Description

Datadog's Finance team partners with stakeholders across the organization, providing commercial, operational, and analytical support to ensure that Datadog’s business continues its rapid and efficient growth.

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to play a key part in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a passion for ensuring accurate financial reporting.

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting in the month-end close process, preparing account reconciliations and financial statement analytics, supporting the preparation of internal reporting packages, supporting external audits, and assisting with ad hoc projects. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the company, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and internal controls.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, with a primary focus on Sales and Marketing expenses
  • Assist in preparing internal reporting packages, ensuring financial reporting is timely, accurate, and compliant with US GAAP
  • Perform analytics over financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues promptly to management
  • Serve as a key point of contact for year-end financial statement audits, quarterly reviews, and internal audit and SOX requests
  • Proactively recommend and implement process improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline accounting efforts
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, FP&A and other teams to understand and support business processes, ensure proper accounting treatment, and resolve reconciling differences
  • Participate in special projects, including system implementations, process enhancements, and ad-hoc financial analyses

Who You Are:

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience , preferably within a public company or Big 4, and hold a BS/BA degree in Accounting
  • CPA-certified (or on track to be certified)
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong technical accounting background with a knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404, and SEC reporting standards
  • A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, consistently meeting deliverables and deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Flexible and analytical, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience with Netsuite, FloQast, and Workiva; familiarity with Smart View is a plus, but not required

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • Generous and competitive benefits package
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan
  • Continuous career development and pathing opportunities
  • Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
  • Best in breed onboarding
  • Internal mentor and buddy program cross-departmentally
