Description

Type: Full-time

Reports to: COO

What We Do

At Heat Geek, we are tackling one of the UK’s biggest carbon contributors: home heating. Nearly 20% of all UK carbon emissions stems from home heating – and that contribution is even bigger on a global scale. At Heat Geek, we are changing that. By simplifying a traditionally complex industry and revolutionising the technology used by installers, we’re making low-carbon heating mainstream. We have already prevented over 2,600,000 kilograms of carbon from entering our atmosphere as of July 2026, and we aren’t stopping there!

Join Us!

People are at the core of who we are and what we do. From decreasing homeowners' energy bills to help with the cost of living, to empowering talented heating engineers to perform outstanding installations, to ensuring a greener world for all of us, we believe in the power of what we can all do together. And we need passionate, talented, hard working people to be a part of this journey.

Your Mission

We're hiring a Supply Chain & Planning Lead to take a functioning supply chain and rebuild it into something that sets the standard for the industry - with the rigour and accountability of the world's most advanced supply chains, not the ones currently found in heating. This is also a build for scale: treat the UK as the prototype for a model you'll replicate as we expand into new markets, which means experimenting deliberately and iterating toward something repeatable, not just optimising for today.

Secondarily, you'll lead our Planning function - grant applications, grid connections, and homeowner handover packs across the upgrades process. This team already scales compliance volume by hundreds of percent annually without proportional headcount growth; your job is to protect and extend that leverage, not manage day-to-day casework.

Both halves of this role are the same problem: build a function that scales without scaling headcount, by getting the model right once and holding everyone - suppliers, partners, and your own team - to it consistently. You're the kind of person who enjoys dissecting problems to root cause, rebuilding processes so they don't recur, and holding partners to a standard they didn't think was possible in this industry.

If you're reading this and it resonates with you, we know that you are talented and could do this work anywhere. But we want you to do it HERE, with us, because we need persevering teammates who care about making a real difference in the world.

Role Outputs

Supply Chain Innovation & Transformation

  • Fundamentally reject the inefficiencies accepted as normal in this industry. Introduce supply chain innovations inspired by the world's most advanced industries to drive standardisation, speed, and accountability across our partner base.
  • Build supply chain resilience ahead of need - planning for shortages or delays before they hit installs, not reacting once they have.
  • In partnership with our technical team, introduce additional products and manufacturers that land reliably, deliver quality output, and hit the best commercial terms.

Supplier Accountability & Performance

  • Own parts availability and quality as a zero-defect target. Your Operations Associate will catch day-to-day issues as they arise; you own the outcome, resolve anything that escalates as close to real-time as possible, and close the root cause so it doesn't recur.
  • Set explicit performance SLAs with every key supplier and manufacturer, and manage the relationship, commercially and operationally, with them.
  • Negotiate strong commercial terms across the supplier base without compromising quality or compliance.

Team Leadership

You'll lead two functions of different shapes:

  • Supply Chain: Supported by a Logistics Coordinator who owns weekly ordering, supplier confirmations, and day-to-day parts issue tracking — freeing your time for supplier strategy, negotiation, and resilience planning. As the team grows, you'll build it out with Operations Associates, setting clear expectations and room to grow into broader ownership.
  • Planning: Lead the existing team of Operations Associates who manage pre- and post-install compliance with a high degree of autonomy, driven by deep process expertise, close regulatory relationships, and automation built with our in-house tech team.

Across both functions, you're the escalation owner for complex issues — delivering structured resolutions and feeding learnings back into long-term process, rather than absorbing recurring problems into your own day-to-day.

Planning Processes

  • Hold responsibility for our planning processes, ensuring reliable delivery of pre- and post-install compliance steps as volume scales.
  • Partner with the tech team to ensure automation keeps pace with team growth, so headcount doesn't have to.
  • Evolve business processes in line with legislation, in partnership with the QA team, and manage edge cases as they arise.

Performance, Data & Reporting

  • Own cost of parts end-to-end, including issue resolution — focused on delivering a premium service for the minimum cost.
  • Define and enforce key supply chain metrics (cost, lead time, resilience, quality, SLA adherence) for your own team and for suppliers.
  • Produce clear, actionable reporting for the COO and senior leadership.
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities across partners before they become problems.

Candidate Requirements

  • Track record of transforming, not just managing, supplier relationships in a scaling business, ideally bringing practices from a more mature supply chain discipline (FMCG, automotive, electronics, or retail replenishment) to this one
  • Experience negotiating directly with manufacturers, distributors and merchants
  • Experience building resilience or contingency planning into a supply chain, ideally having lived through a real supply shock and built the playbook that followed, not just planned for one in theory
  • Experience standing up a supply chain or operating model in one market and documenting it well enough to hand off or replicate in a second
  • Comfortable managing and developing Operations Associates
  • Has built a supplier scorecard or vendor performance dashboard to hold suppliers to account
  • Data-informed, with strong analytical skills and comfort working with CRMs, workflow tools, and automation platforms
  • Calm, structured problem-solver with experience managing escalations and risk

It's a bonus if you have…

  • Experience with heat pumps, renewable energy, construction, or utilities
  • Experience in health and safety or warehouse operations
  • Experience working in a start up or similarly fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with manufacturers on new product introduction, or building a model for international/multi-market expansion

We believe great teams are built from different ways of thinking, learning, and living, and as such, we strive to build an organisation where people can show up as themselves. Even if you don't tick every box listed above, but are passionate about the work that we are doing and believe that you can make a positive impact here, we'd love to hear from you. So please drop us a message or share more detail in your application!

Ways of Working + Benefits

This is a 3-day-in-the-office-hybrid role where you will work with the team at our office in Sustainable Ventures in Waterloo, Europe's biggest climate tech hub. It's a 5-minute walk from Waterloo Station and an energising space for anyone working on climate change. And don't get us started on the epic view!

Some of our measurable benefits include:

  • Shares in the company, allocated under a tax-incentivised scheme
  • Salary that's evaluated regularly, and based on skills, impact, and role scope, not negotiation tactics
  • £5,000 contribution towards your own heat pump installation
  • Private medical & dental insurance
  • Learning and development budget
  • Annual summer retreat
  • Gym membership contribution
  • Season train ticket loan
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Yoga, run club and social events with other sustainability startups in our co-working space

...alongside monthly socials and regular collaboration opportunities with a team that's passionate, hardworking, and kind.
