The Pet Stop is seeking is seeking an experienced Veterinary Hospital Administrator to support our 5 - doctor practice. If you are passionate about caring for animals and people, and have natural leadership skill, please apply! Ideally, our candidate would have 2+ years of experience working with a multi-doctor veterinary practice. All qualified candidates will be considered, and salary is based on experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Essential Functions):
Hospital Administrators play a key role in driving the performance of a veterinary hospital in partnership with the Area Manager and Medical Director. This position oversees the business and staff aspects of the practice and has responsibility for overseeing all support and operational functions, such as human resources, financial, operational, and business activities, with support from Lakefield. Hospital Administrators are expected to be available to team members during the hospital’s operational hours and this is a 40 hour per week, onsite position. Below are the essential functions of the job:

- Practice Operations: Partner with hospital leadership to create and maintain an environment that supports the efficient delivery of high-quality veterinary care. Serve as the primary point of contact for the hospital’s day-to-day business and operational functions.
- Strategic Planning and Business Development: Collaborate with hospital leadership and organizational partners on strategic planning, business development, operational initiatives, and long-term growth opportunities.
- Financial Management and Performance: Take responsibility for the financial performance of assigned hospital(s). Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and other financial goals. Monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate financial results and priorities to the hospital team.
- Business Analytics and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators, including daily revenue, average invoice amount, transaction volume, labor costs, and other operational metrics. Prepare and communicate regular reports and summaries to support informed decision-making and accountability.
- Team Leadership and Performance Management: Lead, coach, mentor, and develop direct-report team members. Provide ongoing feedback, recognition, and performance management; conduct evaluations; address performance or behavioral concerns; and establish clear expectations for success.
- Employee Development and Engagement: Promote professional growth by encouraging continuing education, job-related training, and opportunities for team members to expand their knowledge and skills. Foster employee engagement, accountability, and ownership of hospital goals.
- Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding: Participate in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of hospital team members. Support effective onboarding and orientation by communicating job responsibilities, performance expectations, policies, procedures, and appropriate use of equipment and resources.
- Human Resources and Compliance: Manage day-to-day human resources matters and maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Ensure hospital practices remain compliant with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Veterinary Team Support and Scheduling: Partner with veterinarians, medical leaders, and support teams to promote effective collaboration and patient care. Oversee and assist with doctor and staff scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing and operational coverage.
- Marketing and Client Growth: Collaborate with the hospital team to develop and execute marketing initiatives that support business objectives and strategic goals. Ensure programs and promotions are implemented, tracked, and evaluated for effectiveness, making adjustments as appropriate.
- Facilities and Equipment: Oversee the maintenance, functionality, and overall condition of the hospital facility, equipment, and physical environment. Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and replacement needs as necessary.
- Regulatory and Safety Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with OSHA, DEA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Promote a safe, compliant, and professional workplace.
- Quality and Operational Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve hospital processes, efficiency, client service, team performance, and overall patient care. Work collaboratively with hospital leadership and team members to implement sustainable improvements.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Essential Qualifications):
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or AA in related field or equivalent work experience. Experience in the veterinary field is a plus. Licensed Veterinary Technicians with leadership and business minded qualities and experience are welcome to apply!
Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in overall operations, financial and facilities management, and/or Human Resources
• This includes two years of job-specific experience in a hospital management role within the veterinary or human health industry
• Experience leading a large team of individuals preferred

- Ability to proactively identify challenges, evaluate options, and develop practical solutions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisory responsibility for all of the team members at the hospital other than doctors. Works
with the veterinary leadership to co-supervise medical support staff.
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
