Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across five domains and more than a dozen mission areas. These include airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerial refueling, special air missions, aerial firefighting, and advanced simulation. We own the whole stack: designing, building, and operating turnkey capabilities that give our partners decisive, asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.
Our operating model is built around three interlocking pillars. The Support Groups provide a global shared-service – spanning people, finance, platform, operations, legal, and engagement. This frees up our Core Groups, who develop and own mission capabilities end-to-end, to focus entirely on delivery. The Market Groups apply a regional lens, ensuring that our agile and adaptable capabilities remain aligned to the wicked problems that matter most to our partners across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific.

Position Summary
At Metrea, people power mission success. We hire world-class engineers, data scientists, and synthetic environment specialists—and build an environment where they thrive and deliver critical effects worldwide.
Our Digital and Synthetics domain spans simulation, data, and digital engineering, delivering mission-critical capability worldwide. We're looking for a People Partner to join our D&S team on maternity cover. You'll partner directly with D&S leaders on workforce strategy, organisational design, and talent plans, while shaping people policies and building scalable solutions as we grow. This isn't a typical HR role, it's a chance to influence and problem-solve at the heart of a mission that impacts global security. While this role is initially offered as maternity cover, there may be scope for it to evolve into a permanent position within Metrea.

What You'll Do
- Partner with Digital and Synthetic and enterprise leaders in the UK/EU and US to shape workforce strategy, organization design, and leadership capability as we grow
- Build trusted relationships with people leaders and employees, driving engagement, performance, and a culture of accountability
- Support our Talent Acquisition and People development teammates and continuously improve our recruiting, onboarding and employee experience across the UK/EU D&S domain
- Guide and resolve complex employee relations matters, coaching leaders and supporting wellbeing, inclusion, and compliance
- Collaborate with the People Development and Total Rewards teams to deliver talent, reward, and capability programs that scale with growth and tackle the complexities of multi jurisdictions
- Ensure compliance with regional labour laws while embedding best practice people processes
- Act as a change partner during organizational growth and transformation, helping leaders and teams navigate change with confidence
What You Bring
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law, with confidence navigating complex, cross-border people issues. European employment law experience (Sweden and Poland) is highly desirable
- A track record of building trust and credibility quickly with senior leaders, managers, and employees
- Flexibility and resilience to thrive in a fast-moving, safety-critical environment
- Experience shaping and delivering people initiatives across the full employee lifecycle—workforce planning, talent, engagement, and employee relations
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- A practical, hands-on mindset—comfortable with both strategy and rolling up your sleeves when needed
- High integrity, discretion, and a commitment to building inclusive, high-performing teams
- Minimum of 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues as a Human Resource Business Partner, People Business Partner, or equivalent
- Experience in Aerospace/aviation or software industry is desirable
- CIPD accreditation or equivalent
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and HRIS
