LOCATION: Tokyo, Japan

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Product Manager to support the commercial launch and ongoing growth of Signatera in Japan. This role will work closely with the U.S.-based Global Product Management organization and the local Japanese commercial team in Japan to execute launch activities, support field readiness, and drive successful adoption of Signatera in Japan.

The position sits at the intersection of product management, commercial execution, and cross-functional collaboration, serving as a key liaison between the Japan commercial organization and the U.S.-based parent company. The successful candidate will help translate global product strategy into effective local market execution while providing market insights and feedback to the broader global product management team.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of experience across product management, commercialization, and marketing, leveraging next-generation sequencing technologies for oncology diagnostics.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the execution of commercial launch activities for Signatera in Japan, including pre-launch planning, launch readiness, and post-launch support

  • Drive adoption and utilization across markets by partnering closely with Sales and Marketing teams

  • Assist in identifying and addressing local market needs, operational gaps, and customer experience opportunities

  • Support implementation and optimization of workflows from ordering through results delivery to enhance customer experience

  • Partner with the marketing, medical affairs, and Global Product Management teams to support development and localization of sales training content and support field onboarding materials

  • Develop clear, scalable materials and documentation to communicate workflows effectively to internal teams, particularly Sales

  • Support creation and maintenance of sales enablement resources, including pitch decks, FAQs, objection-handling guides, and training documentation.

  • Monitor the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and clinical trends in MRD and oncology diagnostics in Japan

  • Synthesize insights into clear recommendations to inform future product strategy and roadmap planning

  • Contribute to strategic discussions regarding product positioning, differentiation, and market opportunities in Japan

  • Support development of future product concepts and Target Product Profiles (TPPs) based on market needs and strategic priorities

  • Lead product management support for clinical trials in Japan

  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluent in Japanese (native) and English (business level)

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in life sciences or a related field. Advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience, including product management, commercialization, or product/solution marketing

  • Experience with next generation sequencing, and preferable experience with cell-free DNA

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading commercial product launches

  • Experience in oncology, diagnostics, or clinical laboratory services strongly preferred

  • Experience working with products delivered as services is a plus

  • Ability to travel 25-35% of the time, some international travel

  • Flexibility to coordinate some routine overlapping work time with US colleagues

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong ability to translate strategy into execution and drive cross-functional alignment

  • Experience with clinical laboratory testing

  • Advanced proficiency in developing presentations, with the ability to create clear, compelling, presentations for both internal and external audiences

  • Ability to understand complex technologies and communicate clear, differentiated value propositions

  • Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders

  • Experience developing sales enablement materials and leading training initiatives for commercial teams

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Proven ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization

  • Fluent in Japanese (native) and English (business level)

Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent diagnostics or oncology product management/commercialization experience (5+ years)

  • Experience in tumor NGS, MRD assay or oncology diagnostics environments preferred

  • Comfortable collaborating with both local commercial teams and global headquarters stakeholders

  • Passionate about improving patient outcomes and supporting successful product adoption in a complex environment

  • Critical thinker and pays attention to detail

  • Skills: strong presentation skills

Travel required for this position:
