Department Overview:
The Partnerships Department leads NYCEDC’s strategy on partnership development across sectors to advance the organization’s priorities and grow New York City’s economy.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate for the Partnerships department is someone who excels at building and managing relationships across sectors to drive impact. You understand the value of collaboration and bring a thoughtful, people-centered approach to cultivating trust with a wide range of stakeholders—from community leaders and industry executives to philanthropic partners and city agencies. You know how to listen, align interests, and develop partnerships that are rooted in shared goals and mutual value.
You possess strong relationship management skills and understand that every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen NYCEDC’s network and mission. You are proactive and responsive, able to navigate complex dynamics while keeping partners engaged and informed. Whether stewarding existing relationships or forging new ones, you maintain a high standard of professionalism and follow-through, ensuring that each partnership delivers on its potential.
You also bring a strategic mindset to partnership development, always thinking about how relationships can scale initiatives, unlock resources, or accelerate progress on NYCEDC’s economic development goals. You identify opportunities for collaboration that others might miss and are skilled at connecting the dots between sectors, stakeholders, and citywide priorities. Your ability to blend diplomacy with strategic thinking makes you an essential part of NYCEDC’s work to grow an inclusive and resilient economy.
