Role Overview:
Our Client, Treville is seeking a Controller to join their Fund Finance team in New York.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role reporting directly to the SVP of Fund Finance, responsible for the oversight and execution of all finance-related functions across the firm’s investment vehicles. The Controller will serve as the key finance lead across Treville’s credit, hybrid, and venture platforms, overseeing third-party service providers, the fund controllers, and delivering reporting to LPs and internal stakeholders, and contributing to capital strategy and firm scalability.
This role is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented operator who thrives in a high-performance culture, enjoys rolling up their sleeves, and is excited by the opportunity to shape the finance backbone of an entrepreneurial investment platform.
Responsibilities:
- Review monthly and quarterly deliverables from third-party fund administrators, including GP packages.
- Assist in supervising the month-end and quarter-end close procedures while collaborating with the firm’s third-party fund administrators.
- Coordinate with the firm’s auditors, tax preparers, and third party administrators to ensure timely and accurate LP deliverables.
- Manage and prepare the monthly and quarterly deliverables for the firm’s banks and other stakeholders.
- Provide assistance to the finance and operations team with operational procedures, due diligence requests, controls, wire transfers, and documentation.
- Collaborate with the FP&A and the investment teams as necessary to support the firm's efforts in capital planning and management of dry powder.
- Assist the IR team with ad-hoc investor requests.
- Participate in the process for capital calls and oversee the reconciliation of cash.
- Oversee fund account payables.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in fund finance, fund accounting, or private fund operations (private credit and hedge fund experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, fund structures, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex financial processes across multiple stakeholders and service providers
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial systems; experience with fund admin portals and reporting platforms is a plus
- Entrepreneurial mindset and operational agility — comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving hard problems, and building systems from scratch
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a low-ego, high-integrity approach to team dynamics and collaboration
At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $122,000 - $183,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
