Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a community-based service in West London on a locum basis. This exciting opportunity offers flexible full-time or part-time hours for an initial three-month contract, with an immediate start available.
Working across community and outpatient clinic settings, you will assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for a therapist with experience in dysphagia management who enjoys working across a variety of clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat adults presenting with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties.
- Independently manage a caseload across community and outpatient clinic settings.
- Provide assessment and treatment for patients with dysphagia in line with current clinical guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to support patients' communication and swallowing needs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with HCPC and local service standards.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- HCPC registration.
- Experience working at Band 6 or Band 7 level.
- Dysphagia competency and relevant postgraduate training.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
