What You’ll Do

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the Game’s Unity client, shaping architecture, engineering standards, and delivery across a large live-service mobile game codebase. You will drive high-impact initiatives spanning gameplay systems, live-ops features, client infrastructure, performance, build reliability, platform integrations, and maintainability. This role is ideal for an engineer who can balance strategic technical direction with pragmatic execution in a complex production environment.

Lead the technical direction of major client systems across gameplay, UI, live events, progression, offers, social features, and platform services
Define and evolve architecture for a large Unity/C# codebase with an emphasis on modularity, testability, performance, and long-term maintainability
Guide implementation of data-driven and live-ops systems, including event configuration, feature flags, localization, and content delivered through structured data pipelines such as FlatBuffers
Partner closely with design, product, QA, analytics, economy, backend, and live-ops stakeholders to align client architecture with roadmap and operational needs
Improve engineering effectiveness through better patterns, tooling, CI/build processes, code review standards, debugging practices, and technical documentation
Lead difficult incident analysis and production issue resolution across mobile client systems, platform integrations, monetization flows, and event features
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, influence cross-team technical decisions, and raise the overall quality bar for the engineering organization

What We’re Looking For

Experience Technical Skills

8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience on large production game clients or similarly complex interactive applications
Deep expertise in C# and object-oriented software design
Strong experience with Unity in large-scale production environments, ideally on mobile live-service titles
Proven track record designing and maintaining scalable client architecture for gameplay systems, UI frameworks, event systems, or data-driven feature development
Experience with mobile platform development considerations for iOS and Android, including integrations, performance tuning, memory management, and release readiness
Strong understanding of client-side data pipelines, remote content/configuration, serialization, and schema-driven system
Experience working with build automation, CI/CD workflows, and release pipelines for mobile games
Strong debugging and profiling skills across runtime behavior, performance, memory, and production stability
Demonstrated ability to establish testing strategy and quality standards in large codebases

Cross-Functional and Domain Knowledge

Deep familiarity with live-service game development, including progression systems, gacha/offers, PvP or event systems, social features, analytics, and monetization
Experience partnering with backend and live-ops teams to support fast iteration on time-bound content and feature rollouts
Ability to make strong technical tradeoffs in a content-heavy, operationally active game environment
Comfort leading cross-team initiatives with multiple dependencies and ambiguous constraints

Soft Skills & Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Excellent communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder alignment skills
Strong mentorship and coaching ability across multiple experience levels.
High ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to bring clarity to complex technical problems
Passion for games and for building stable, maintainable systems that support great player experiences
