El Dorado Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.
We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value experienced technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.
In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Assisting in surgery
- Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
- Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.
Schedule and compensation:
- Compensation: $18 - $26 per hour, for each hour worked
- This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 2+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
- Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Accurate medical record documentation
- Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
- Client education and communication
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

The 4,900-square-foot freestanding hospital features an updated open floor plan, 3 exam rooms, digital X-ray, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. The team handles a busy appointment schedule and 2–4 procedures per day, including spay/neuter, cystotomy, splenectomy, tumor removal, and occasional amputation. Team members are expected to take initiative, work efficiently, and support one another, with strong emphasis on cat-friendly handling. Fountain Hills offers beautiful Sonoran Desert scenery, the iconic town fountain, outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community near the McDowell Mountains.
