Creative Director (Art)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly creative Creative Director – Art to lead the visual direction of advertising campaigns and brand communication. The role requires a strong understanding of advertising, creative strategy, visual storytelling and integrated campaign development.

The Creative Director – Art will work closely with Creative Directors, Copywriters, Art Directors, Designers, Account Management and Production teams to develop impactful creative solutions that meet both client and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the art and visual direction for integrated advertising campaigns across digital, social, print, video and other communication channels.
Develop and translate creative concepts into strong, distinctive and compelling visual executions.
Partner closely with Copywriters to develop integrated art and copy concepts from brief to final execution.
Provide creative direction across multiple projects while maintaining a consistent and high creative standard.
Develop creative concepts for campaigns, brand launches, product communication, social media, digital content, print collateral and activations.
Lead creative development for pitch and new business presentations, including concept development, visual storytelling and campaign ideas.
Present and sell creative concepts and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with Creative, Account Management, Strategy and Production teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.
Provide clear creative direction and constructive feedback to Art Directors, Designers and other creative team members.
Ensure all creative work is aligned with the client's brand guidelines, communication strategy and overall campaign objective.
Review and approve creative work at key stages of development, ensuring quality and consistency before final delivery.
Stay current with advertising, design, digital, social and cultural trends and bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the work.
Encourage innovative thinking and challenge conventional approaches to create differentiated work.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing creative quality, timelines and client expectations.
Collaborate with photographers, illustrators, filmmakers, production partners and other external creative talent where required.
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level creative talent and contribute to building a strong creative culture within the agency.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline.
15
+ years of relevant experience in an advertising agency, creative agency or similar environment, with significant experience in art direction and creative leadership.
Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, art direction and integrated advertising campaigns.
Proven experience leading creative teams and managing multiple campaigns simultaneously.
Strong understanding of visual communication, typography, composition, photography, film, digital and social media.
Strong ability to develop ideas from a brief and transform them into compelling visual concepts.
Experience working on pitch/new business assignments and presenting creative ideas to clients.
Excellent presentation, communication and storytelling skills.
Strong understanding of brand strategy and the ability to connect creative ideas with business objectives.
Proficiency in relevant creative and design tools, with the ability to guide teams on execution.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to creative excellence.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment.
