Help Shape the Next Chapter of Urgent Care at Poulsbo Animal Hospital

Poulsbo Animal Hospital is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our growing team in a unique part-time Small Animal General Practice and Urgent Care role.

This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to help expand and refine an already-successful urgent care service while continuing to practice high-quality companion animal medicine. Working closely with our Medical Director, Dr. Craig Adams, you will have the autonomy to help design the future of our urgent care offerings while enjoying the support of an experienced, collaborative veterinary team.

This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys the variety, problem-solving, and fast pace of urgent care medicine while also appreciating the continuity of care and client relationships that come with general practice.

Whether your background is rooted in companion animal general practice, urgent care, or a combination of both, you'll find an opportunity here to practice at the top of your abilities while helping shape a growing service line.

Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • Fridays: General Practice and Urgent Care appointments (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Saturdays: Dedicated Urgent Care coverage
  • Flexible 10-hour Saturday schedule designed with your input
  • No overnight emergency responsibilities
  • No after-hours on-call requirements

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a veterinarian who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys a diverse caseload, and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine (or equivalent certification for international graduates)
  • Active Washington veterinary license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
  • Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
  • Commitment to practicing high-quality, evidence-based veterinary medicine
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-doctor practice environment
  • Passion for companion animal medicine and client service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Small Animal General Practice
  • Experience managing Urgent Care or Same-Day Care cases
  • Interest in surgery, diagnostics, and internal medicine
  • Confidence managing a broad range of medical presentations
  • Desire to help expand and develop urgent care services
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuing education
