What does a Editor Animator do at WPP Production?
WPP Production is seeking a design-led Editor/Animator to join a fast-paced production studio supporting a US-based client. This is a hybrid creative role for an experienced professional who combines strong editorial craft with exceptional motion design sensibility, particularly in 2D design, kinetic typography, presentation design and branded audiovisual content.
You will be working within a large global advertising network, with opportunities for exposure and growth alongside world-class creative, production and craft teams. We are looking for a resourceful, creative and solutions-oriented individual with a refined, modern aesthetic—someone who is not afraid to push creative boundaries while delivering polished, effective and technically robust work.
You will be a creative generalist with a strong design point of view: someone who can take a brief, a set of boards, visual references or an existing creative direction and elevate it through thoughtful composition, typography, timing, animation, editing and storytelling.
You will create and deliver work across presentations, pitch films, social content, case studies, web content, animatics, broadcast projects, brand films and adaptation work. You will collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Designers, Editors, Producers, Project Managers and Client teams, contributing both hands-on craft and clear creative thinking.
The ideal candidate has a portfolio or reel that demonstrates sophisticated motion graphics, strong typographic design and an artistic, contemporary visual sensibility. You are comfortable working independently when needed, while collaborating effectively within a fun, fast-paced, ego-free studio environment.
This is a senior-level, client-facing role. You should be confident presenting your work, articulating your creative rationale and explaining or defending design decisions to internal stakeholders and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, edit and animate high-quality audiovisual content across presentations, pitch videos, social content, case studies, web content, animatics, broadcast projects, brand films and adaptation projects.
- Develop and design a wide variety of creative assets using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Create refined 2D motion design and kinetic typography, demonstrating strong composition, visual hierarchy, pacing, storytelling and attention to detail.
- Translate creative briefs, boards, visual references and brand guidelines into polished, design-led motion assets.
- Adapt creative assets across multiple formats, channels and deliverables while maintaining brand consistency under tight deadlines.
- Bring original creative thinking to each assignment, identifying opportunities to elevate existing concepts, boards and deliverables through design, animation and editorial craft.
- Create premium presentation and new-business content with exceptional attention to typography, layout, transitions, consistency and brand standards.
- Edit video content with a strong sense of rhythm, storytelling, music, sound, timing and visual pacing.
- Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Designers, Editors, Producers, Project Managers and Client teams throughout the creative and production process.
- Participate in internal and client-facing meetings; clearly present, explain and confidently defend design, editorial and animation decisions.
- Collaborate with Producers, Project Managers and Client teams to understand project timelines, scheduling needs and delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain efficient workflows, ensuring files are well organised and projects are delivered to a high technical and creative standard.
- Prepare and manage work for editorial, audio, colour, Flame and After Effects sessions, with a strong understanding of production workflows and delivery requirements.
- Explore and apply AI-enabled creative tools responsibly to support ideation, design exploration, content development and production efficiency.
- Stay current with contemporary motion design, typography, editing, design culture and emerging creative-production tools.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating high-quality, design-led motion work, including 2D motion graphics, kinetic typography, audiovisual editing and branded content.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator.
